Meet Doug
BACKGROUND
Doug has spent nearly 40 years in public service and education as a teacher, coach, and administrator. During his career at Augusta, he was an advocate for public education through the support of students in both their academic and athletic endeavors. Doug's degrees in business and education have led him to continued service in the Augusta community. After retiring from public education, he remained invested in the community through his involvement with the Kansas Cannons baseball team and Go! Augusta. He has had unwavering support of public education and local government control through his service on the Augusta Board of Education and Butler Community College Board of Trustees.
REASON FOR RUNNING
Doug has chosen to run for the 77th District House of Representatives seat because he believes he can make an impact and create positive change for the citizens of Kansas in the 77th District. Doug's promise to his constituents if elected would be to advocate for:

Funding for Public Education - Support and advocate for fully funded public schools, including funding for Special Education. Doug is committed to keeping public dollars in public education.

Reasonable and responsible tax policy - Keeping our most vulnerable citizens at the forefront, Doug will advocate for tax policy that makes sense for the needs of Kansans.

Expansion of Medicaid - Doug wants to keep our rural hospitals open and will advocate for healthcare for thousands of Kansans through the expansion of medicaid.
